This first quiz in Unit One must be completed by 10:10 Friday, February 5th You have 10 minutes to complete the quiz and are allotted two attempts in case of technical difficulties. To give yourself ample time to submit the quiz, you should begin it no later than 10:00 Wednesday, February 5th.
This quiz covers the key terms that we have defined and used since Week Two (hint: rhetorical patterns), as well as Patterson Hood’s essay “The New(er) South.” Hood’s essay is the first sample argument that we will read for Unit One. The essay does not come from the textbook; rather, it’s a popular source that comes from an online web magazine. The link to Hood’s essay can be found underneath the “February 5th” placeholder in your Group B Module. Remember that the assigned reading—Hood’s essay—should be finished before you begin the quiz. You won't have enough time to read, "fish" for the right answer and respond to all three questions in the allotted time.
